Dear Parents,
This is a story about real people overcoming a traumatic situation. As you read this entertaining story with your child, it is an opportunity to nurture your child’s inner strength.
While some of us live in an area susceptible to hurricanes, and some of us do not, we all face challenges in our lives. As parents, we would like to protect our children from every hardship. Yet storms, tornadoes, earthquakes, fires, floods, deaths, losses and personal challenges are all a part of life.
When we give our children information about Katrina’s impact on New Orleans, and share stories of the courage and determination with which the people are rebuilding their homes and city, we provide a role model for them to face diffi culties in their own lives later on. We give them hope that it can turn out alright. They learn that when tough situations occur, they will be able to recover. They can overcome hardship.
This book provides you with a springboard from which you can begin to plant the same seeds of encouragement and resiliency in your children that the evacuees and returning citizens of the hurricane damaged areas have demonstrated.
Michelle O’Brien is an enthusiastic and inspired storyteller. Her knowledge of childhood development uniquely qualifies her to bring understanding to her audience and plant the seeds which empower.

What Do We Do?
Each month, we offer a weekend workshop (Each day $125.00 pre-paid or $150.00 at the door or $200.00 pre-paid for both days) on Gestalt, Transactional Analysis, Redecision, Psychodrama, NLP, Addiction or our own PSYCHOGENETIC SYSTEM™ Couple, Parenting & Family coaching approach.
Each year, we offer one 5 day Psychogenetic training program intensive. All of our workshops are open to every interested person. Our highly qualified faculty is composed of many well-known therapists and teachers and our own graduates. We offer CEUs for CIT, BCSAC and LCSW counselors. Join us. Ongoing weekly group sessions are $150.00 per month. One pre-group session ($90.00) is required. Individual and couple sessions with Anne Teachworth are $90 for each 45 minute session or $325 for four sessions.
Who Are We?
The Gestalt Institute of New Orleans was founded in 1975 by Anne Teachworth, Director, Certified Gestalt and Psychogenetic Coach & Fellow of the American Psychotherapy Assn.
For the last 30 years, we have offered Gestalt, The Psychogenetics System™ & NLP (Neurolinguistic Programming) educational training and personal improvement workshops to the general public, and private sessions available with Anne or graduates and members of our Relationship Center staff.
In addition, we offer professional workshops and training programs in Gestalt, The Psychogenetic System™ & NLP to practicing counselors, students, and those wanting to improve their personal and professional skills.
